Leads projects requiring support staff and assumes responsibility for budget and schedule for the electrical scope of work of projects. Assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project, such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing, in accordance with electrical engineering disciplines of staff. Manages Junior/Senior Electrical Engineers and works with Drafters and administrative staff. Estimates manpower needs and schedules and assigns work to meet completion date and budgets. Makes decisions independently on electrical engineering problems and methods. Serves as the technical specialist in the application of advance theories, concepts, principles, or process for electrical engineering. Utilizes knowledge in the preparation of complete quality packages for the engineering, procurement, and construction of electrical systems. Works on various projects that involve low to high voltage site and building electrical distribution, interfacing with numerous disciplines and systems. Prepares calculations, sketches, and specifications. Reviews product design for compliance with electrical engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving electrical engineering design and test problems. Directs integration of technical activities and products. Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases. Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget. Prepares interim and completion project reports.
