Television Technician: Assists with preproduction planning of recording and transmitting broadcasts. Helps with postproduction duties such as editing and dubbing. Prearranges and controls television production equipment, such as cameras, lights, microphones and microphone booms, and recording equipment, in studio and at locations outside of studio, to record or transmit broadcasts.
Performs preventive and minor equipment maintenance, using work tools. Maintains equipment inventory and records showing that required equipment maintenance is performed on schedule. Keeps log to record equipment usage. Operates studio and mini-television (portable, shoulder-mounted) cameras. Controls console to regulate transmission of television scenes. Produces educational and training films and video recordings. May perform duties of other related occupations depending upon specific production needs of individual airwaves or closed-circuit station where workers must be able to set up and operate equipment.
