Sells rental or leasing of railroad cars to new or existing customers in assigned area or territory.
Creates prospect list and
gets new accounts.
Contacts and
interacts directly with potential, new, and existing customers or clients, including customers shipping products via railway and/or customers who lease railroad cars as investments, to present information and explain railroad rental process and advantages, utilizing persuasive sales techniques.
Calculates and quotes prices. Answers all questions concerning railroad car rentals, with appropriate referrals where required. Analyzes and determines customers' railcar rental needs, and recommends rental service best suited for them. Prepares and presents forms, agreements, or proposals to sell railcar rental services that address customers’ needs, closes transactions, and secures sales. Establishes professional customer relationships with appropriate customer personnel. Submits time and expense reports to management. Investigates service warranty claims to ensure resolution within organization policies. Analyzes and interprets records of present and past sales, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred for management. Keeps informed of new services and changes that might affect services offered. Keeps informed of company contract procedures and service prices.
