Airline Manager- Ramp:
Oversees all phases of ground operations within one or more ramp stations, ensuring that all employees, including vendor-employees performing services for the organization, are made aware of any and all duties they must perform that are covered within the Ramp Manager's area of responsibility. Develops daily workforce schedules for cost effectiveness and productivity. Oversees ground ramp activities required for aircraft servicing, including handling of cargo and customer baggage, as well as directing aircraft on the ramp area. Prepares flight reports, conducts pre-flight briefing with Lead Ramp Agents, and observes flight handling for proper safety/procedural infractions. Ensures the safe and efficient use of personnel and equipment in the ground handling of aircraft assigned to them. Investigates and documents any incidents/accidents.
Ensures efficient and effective communication concerning individual job duties and responsibilities with direct reports and others within area of responsibility. Communicates with tour operators and aircraft owners to ensure all ground operations issues of relative importance are communicated to appropriate parties. Oversees station dependability performance, reviews station flight delays, and investigates and recommends changes to improve on-time performance. Administers all customer service functions at ramp stations including, but not limited to, ticketing, baggage handling, cargo operations, and passenger security. Maintains all manuals required within ramp stations. Maintains training files, including vendor training required to be kept in station, ensures necessary training is scheduled, and ensures completion thereof. Prepares and submits required reports. Ensures that security directives and airport authorities guidelines or procedures are implemented and that operational and safety objectives are met. Prepares necessary plans, budgets, and schedules as required. Administers vendor service contracts to assure required services are performed in accordance with contractual agreements. Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and local airport regulations. Assumes responsibility for all station resources, such as facilities, equipment, supplies, and monies, ensuring compliance with company policy. Selects and trains ramp personnel, performs employee performance evaluations as necessary, recommends personnel changes, promotions, and salary adjustments, and initiates proper disciplinary/corrective action.
