Sells company's products to manufacturers, wholesale and retail establishments, government agencies, and other institutions, using extensive product knowledge. Creates interest in company's merchandise with wholesale and retail buyers and purchasing agents, and ensures that any questions or concerns of prospective buyers and current clients are addressed, using appropriate referrals where required. Generates new accounts. Speaks directly with new and existing customers or clients to explain features and merits of products offered. Discusses the potential buyers' and customers' needs and suggests how company's merchandise can meet those needs.

Shows samples or catalogs that describe items company stocks and informs customers about prices, availability, and how products can save money and/or improve productivity. Demonstrates products and provides assistance in the best application of products. Emphasizes the unique qualities of the products offered by company. Provides advice to clients on how to increase sales. Closes transactions, takes orders, and resolves any problems or complaints with the merchandise. Submits time and expense reports to management. Investigates product warranty claims to ensure resolution within organization policies. Analyzes and interprets records of present and past sales, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred for management.
