Specializes in the treatment of work-related diseases and injuries that occurred at work.
Develops and implements an occupational health program at a hospital or clinic setting or within established clinical groups. Examines patient and develops a patient care plan based on evaluation. Reviews reports of patient's general physical condition, reactions to medications, and medical history. Conducts physical examinations, program design, health promotion, epidemiologic studies, and hazard consultation. Provides treatment of injuries and communication of the return-to-work status to the client industry. Services may expand to the full range of occupational and environmental health services. This position requires a licensed Medical Doctor in internal medicine with specialized training in occupational medicine. May serve as a consultant to industry.
