SalaryExpert is an affiliate of ERI Economic Research Institute. ERI Economic Research Institute was founded in 1987 to provide compensation, benefits, and Human Resource research for private and public organizations in the form of published reports and software database products.

ERI's research database software subscriptions are available to management, analysts and consultants and are now widely used by client organizations (over 10,000 corporate and consulting subscribers, affecting over 100,000 organizations' pay practices). Subscribers include corporate compensation, relocation, human resources, and other professionals, as well as independent consultants and counselors, and US and Canadian public sector administrators (including military, law enforcement, city/county, state/provincial, and federal government pay administrators).

ERI's online survey website, SalariesReview, provides patented (March 2005) online interactive salary surveys for positions and locations not covered by traditional survey vendors. (Patent Numbers US 6,862,596 and 7,647,322. Other Patents Pending.) ERI utilizes SalariesReview user-inputted survey data to increase the robustness of our Assessor Series salary and cost-of-living datasets.

ERI works with its affiliate, PAQ Services to conduct the online surveys found on the SalaryExpert® site.

PAQ Services' full PAQe Questionnaire contains 300 job measures, many new and unique to specific applications. Visitors to www.paq.com may select partial questionnaires and receive reports specific to their needs, including:
  • FLSA Overtime Eligibility Estimate - Salary Administration
    Using the 9 questions/measures found in the 8/23/04 revision to Reg 541, the first alteration to the Fair Labor Standards Act since 1949.
  • Social Security Administration's "Early Retirement" Estimate - Disability Determination
    Using the 46 work paper questions asked of any new claimant. Both alternative jobs and job availability are assessed in a program described as "underemployment insurance."
  • SalaryExpert® Free Salary Information
    PAQ gathers job data (jobs of interest), an indication of whether a respondent is an incumbent (asking for years in job), earnings, and then 3 of the 99 work measures found in eDOT. This site and collection construct exists to assist those disabled to identify jobs that they might satisfactorily perform with existing mental or physical residual capacities. This is the only such effort ongoing in America where worker characteristics for specific jobs are captured.

PAQ Services is an Indiana corporation that has operated as an independent firm dedicated solely to job analysis services. PAQ has been in operation since the late 1960s when it was founded by Dr. Edward McCormick who concurrently assisted in creating the DOT's Selected Characteristics of Occupations, used continuously since then in the US Dictionary of Occupational Titles. In 1974, after testing of the PAQ measurement instruments with projects for the US Navy, PAQ was incorporated as an Indiana corporation (and so exists today). For 35 years, PAQ has been measuring tens of thousands of jobs annually with the same research instrument. No other US firm can make such a claim. PAQ serves over 100 clients annually, many of them long-time users of the PAQ questionnaire. Over 1 million job analyses using the PAQ Questionnaire have been completed since the inception of the company.
