Job Description
Operates street sweeping equipment, such as mechanical sweepers and vacuum trucks, and cleans streets, curbs, sidewalks, and other public areas. Removes litter, leaves, dirt, and other debris from roadways and public spaces to prevent blockages in drainage systems. Conducts spot cleaning in high-traffic or heavily littered areas. Follows designated routes and schedules. Performs routine maintenance checks on street sweeping equipment... to ensure functioning and safety. Reports equipment issues for repairs. Identifies and reports hazardous road conditions, such as potholes, road markings, or signage issues. Adheres to safety guidelines and traffic regulations while operating street sweeping equipment. Wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during operations. Works with other members of the Public Works Department and municipal staff to coordinate street sweeping activities with other maintenance operations. Ensures compliance with environmental regulations and guidelines while conducting street sweeping operations, including proper disposal of collected debris and waste. Records street sweeping activities, including routes covered, debris collected, and maintenance performed on equipment.Read More
