Supervises wastewater treatment operators. Assigns, directs, trains and inspects the work of staff. Disciplines, coaches, counsels, and evaluates staff performance. Verifies time sheets and paid time off (PTO) usage of staff. Analyzes data to determine proper operating conditions and ensures compliance with operating permit requirements. Participates in the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment by monitoring and adjusting plant processes.... Assists with the startup and shutdown of equipment. Investigates accidents and makes minor emergency repairs. Maintains logs of shift activities, checks operator log sheets, monitors operational and laboratory reports, and enters data into database. Prepares reports for management. Confirms wastewater treatment activities are in compliance with regulations. Executes plant-wide area safety inspections and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety training sessions. Collects samples of raw sewage, primary and secondary treatment effluent, centrifuge, incinerator, and boiler chemistry.
