Job Description
Oversees the operation of the surgical department within a healthcare facility and manages the daily activities of the surgical team. Ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care, compliance with regulations, and optimal resource utilization. Supervises and leads the surgical team, including surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and support staff, and implements development programs to enhance their skills and knowledge. Identifies and implements... surgical department controls and confirms that protocols follow industry and accreditation standards. Manages surgical schedules to optimize resource allocation and minimize downtime. Monitors inventory of surgical equipment, supplies, and medications. Evaluates patient outcomes, addresses patient concerns and complaints, and supports improvements to enhance the quality of care. Maintains knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation requirements, and industry trends. Prepares for and participates in inspections and audits. Develops and controls the surgical department budget and costs and identifies opportunities for cost reduction. Develops and facilitates quality assurance programs and reports on key performance indicators and quality metrics. Implements risk management strategies to minimize adverse events.
