Directs and manages the administration of the Institutional Review Board, which reviews research projects involving human subjects. Develops policies and procedures for IRB operations. Oversees and assigns IRB staff to tasks and reviews the work of IRB analysts. Responds to allegations and complaints of noncompliance and unethical research conduct. Approves and denies project proposals and changes to project activities. Signs approval letters and provides them to IRB administrators for distribution.
