Job Description:

Assesses existing rates, regulations, and proposed or approved changes in rates. Proposes changes in rates and charges, including preparation of rate studies, to support the costs of production and distribution, the analysis of changes in demand for services, and the preparation of long-range revenue and expenditure forecasts, including review of capital plans and debt service requirements. Uses considerable independent judgment, and general direction to perform work. Excludes positions at the paraprofessional level. Examines proposals and applications for changes in rates, and newly approved rate changes to determine required changes in company's rate structure. Compiles rate-manual sections based on factors such as costs, classes of merchandise or product, business volume, and potential return. Confers with other companies, sales and rate personnel, and others to discuss revised rates, rules, and/or regulations. Prepares revised rate schedules or submits data for publication.
