Job Description:

Designs containers or packaging for finished products, such as foods, beverages, toiletries, and medicines, combining optimum market display and protection of the product. Confers with representatives of engineering, marketing, management, and other departments to determine packaging requirements and type of product market. Develops design of package for specific product, considering factors, such as convenience in handling and storing, distinctiveness for identification by consumer, and simplicity to minimize production costs. Conceives, draws, modifies, and changes design to achieve desired effect. Plans content, graphic aspect, and presentation of package. Renders design ideas, including exterior markings and labels, fabricating model in form of paper, wood, glass, plastic, or metal, depending on material to be used in package.
