Manages, plans, and administers prescribed physical therapy treatment program for patients to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following illness, disease, or injury. Provides direction and supervision for physical therapy staff. Collaborates with rehabilitation team and other hospital departments to coordinate treatment programs. Ensures quality care in accordance with national, state, hospital, and department standards. Consults with head therapists on specific therapy problems. Plans and organizes orientation and in-service training for staff members. Assists in formulating program budget. Engages in studies and investigations related to improving physical therapy program.
