Job Description:

Provides research and conflict resolution services for assisting organizations, clients, and other internal or external people, departments, or organizations, and/or resources with appropriately preventing or dealing with conflict. Coordinates assistance for people in conflict with others, or with the law, depending on the type of organization or case, working ethically and professionally. Develops a strong conflict awareness strategy, acknowledging that conflicts will arise, and using them as positive building blocks rather than negatives that can be debilitating. Manages confrontations, taking effective steps, and tries to ensure that positive results are obtained. Establishes approaches specifically geared toward the acknowledgment of differences between conflicting parties, enabling or facilitating them to work together for effective conflict resolution. Provides facilitation and operational assistance as needed. Maintains databases, compiles reports, and assists in an organization's business development. Monitors budget, assists in preparation of funding proposals and reports, and contributes to sound financial decisions. Compiles statistics and submits reports to management. Utilizes conflict checking systems if necessary. Provides support and advocacy, when appropriate, for individuals who may be working closely with social service systems. Assists clients with referrals and community resources as required, such as housing, counseling, and treatment. Ensures service incorporates client respect, keeping their dignity intact, and facilitates continued improvement through appropriate referrals and possibly through case management. Provides current information about available community resources to staff and/or clients. Contributes to the progressive and positive working environment of an organization and promotes wellness of the staff. Participates in positive, sound team management decisions. Practices good communication with coworkers and all levels of management, including resolving conflict in a healthy and proactive manner.
