Job Description:

Applies principles of commercial accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions. Prepares profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports. Analyzes and reviews budgets and expenditures for local, State, Federal, and private funding, contracts, and grants. Monitors and reviews accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness. Prepares and reviews budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents. Analyzes revenue and expenditure trends, recommends appropriate budget levels, and ensures expenditure control. Resolves accounting discrepancies. Ensures the adequacy of the accounting system as the basis for reporting to management. Projects accounting data to show the effects of proposed plans on capital investments, income, cash position, and overall financial condition.
