Job Description:

Analyzes and evaluates individuals with behavioral problems by performing experimental or applied behavior analysis. Studies and analyzes specific and comprehensive use of principles of learning and behavior, including operant and respondent learning, in order to address behavioral needs of widely varying individuals in diverse settings which may include building the skills and achievements of children in school settings; enhancing the development, abilities, and choices of children and adults with different kinds of disabilities; and augmenting the performance and satisfaction of employees in organizations and businesses. Researches the areas of experimental and/or applied behavior analysis, and utilizes the principles learned through that research to facilitate changes in behavior. Conducts studies that measure specific influences, such as the environment, on behavior. Assists individuals in identifying their needs, and formulates and implements treatment plans to manage problematic behaviors, focusing on behaviors that can be readily observed and measured. Develops methods of changing behavior, and provides services to meet diverse behavioral needs. Looks for new ways to solve behavior problems in specific audiences, such as school children or the elderly. Assists in the treatment of various mental health issues, such as autism, brain injuries, and developmental disabilities.
