Job Description:

Engages in actuarial sciences, applies statistics and principles of finance and business to problems in life, health, social, and casualty insurance, annuities, and pensions. Develops premium structures for new products, and develops financial models to prepare business cases for new products. Monitors the experience, including reviewing premiums, of particular products and business portfolios. Develops financial forecasting models to measure long-term profitability for new business opportunities. Communicates clearly and concisely the business implications of the recommendations made, in particular to other departments, e.g., sales, marketing, pricing, and finance. Provides actuarial analysis and advice to other areas of the business. Analyzes mortality, accident, sickness, disability, and retirement rates and constructs probability tables regarding fire, natural disasters, and unemployment, based on analysis of statistical data and other pertinent information. Designs or reviews insurance and pension plans. Reviews premium rates required and cash reserves and liabilities necessary to ensure payment of future benefits.
