Job Description:

Oversees the day-to-day management of a trust (typically a taxpaying entity) that owns property and/or holds assets. Manages all administrative and fiduciary functions of the accounts assigned, including managing all accounts in accordance with trust documents, applicable legal requirements, and company compliance guidelines. Interfaces with clients with unusual and sophisticated tax situations and multi-family generations. Heads discussions on ongoing estate planning issues, gift, estate, and other tax and financial concerns about and with the client. Purchases and sells securities, balances bank accounts, and makes payments to the designated trust beneficiaries. Files taxes on behalf of the trust, and reports any income that the trust received as a result of selling assets or buying income-generating investments such as bonds or preferred stock. Details tax deductions that a trust can claim, such as the trust manager’s wages and other operating fees. Contacts the beneficiaries, upon the death of the trust creator or grantor. and makes arrangements to have sums of money or property transferred to these individuals. Produces annual financial reports that are shared with trust donors and beneficiaries, including details of the trust’s financial transactions, property acquisitions and sales, and details of any disbursements that occurred during the prior year. Presents reports and answers questions from donors and beneficiaries. Administers the trust in accordance with instructions laid out in the trust document.
