Job Description:

Manages and coordinates operation and maintenance activities of fleet/automotive equipment department and storage and repair facilities of an establishment. Coordinates inspection of and evaluates automobiles and equipment and schedules needed repair or service work. Acquires State-required certificates of title and schedules registrations and State inspections. Obtains vehicle and equipment replacement costs, and prepares specifications for purchase of new vehicles and equipment. Prepares and controls department budget, directs recording of expenses, and analyzes purchase and repair costs to control expenditures. Recommends procedures to improve efficiency. Ensures adherence to safety rules and regulations. May plan and direct safety campaigns. May arrange for insurance coverage on vehicles. May negotiate with vendors to purchase automobiles, equipment, materials, and supplies. May assign trucks and passenger cars for use. Less
