Job Description:

Develops, directs, and coordinates the process used at remote locations to examine patients, provide educational support, and facilitate medical consultations. Manages and coordinates the operational planning, establishment, execution, and evaluation of clinical programs and other applications delivered through telemedicine technology to remote sites. Typically requires an advanced degree in a field of health and five years of related experience. Requires strong clinical and quality improvement knowledge. Develops and coordinates processes using telecommunications and interactive video technology to support distance learning. Identifies and develops clinical services, educational programs, and other applications for delivery through the telemedicine network to meet healthcare needs in remote locations. Provides leadership and strategic direction for telemedicine programs for patient services and related projects. Conducts comprehensive assessments of telemedicine environments, synthesizes pertinent information, and identifies implications for planning and development of clinical services and educational programs. Defines and manages operational protocols for telehealth clinics and sessions. Develops and maintains partnerships with remote sites that link to the telemedicine network. Oversees planning, development, and implementation of telemedicine programs, products, and services to address the clinical needs of patients and to support the practice of clinical staff. Prepares and manages the departmental budget. Hires, develops, and motivates a qualified department staff. May collaborate in the development of a reimbursement model to obtain Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance coverage for telemedicine services. Less
