Job Description:

Organizes and oversees the daily activities of the Pharmacy Department, including staff work schedules and resource allocation. Manages and directs the pharmacy processes and activities of personnel to ensure the efficient and timely dispensing of medications to clients and compliance with all relevant laws. Ensures that the department complies with accreditation, legal, regulatory, and safety requirements. Develops departmental policies and procedures. Oversees the financial operations of the pharmacy, including assisting in preparing budgets and reporting operational and financial data. Acts as a liaison with the medical community. Manages and coordinates the activities of the pharmacy staff. Provides drug consultation services when required. Coordinates patient services with the Nursing, Delivery, and Reimbursement Departments. Oversees the purchasing, control, and security of all drug products and medical supplies. Ensures the confidentiality of patient and proprietary information. Designs, recommends, monitors, and evaluates specific pharmacy care plans for home care patients. Assists in assessing, managing, and reporting medication-related incidents and equipment errors and/or failures. Responds to requests for drug information from health care providers and home care patients. Provides in-service education to Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacy Technicians, and other practitioners. Participates in employee reviews. May prepare medication emergency kits if required. Less
