Job Description:

Plans, organizes, develops, teaches, and evaluates all in-service and education programs for the nursing staff. Develops curriculum content and implements improved teaching and nursing techniques. An advanced degree in nursing and at least two years of teaching experience are typically required for this position. Conducts an annual education needs assessment and completes an annual education calendar. Coordinates hospital-wide educational resources. Coordinates annual mandatory education requirements and facilitates annual competency process for nursing departments. Manages, coordinates, and evaluates nursing educational program effectiveness to promote competence. Develops and coordinates the department budget and monitors, analyzes, and responds to budget variances. Allocates fiscal resources and fiscal performance within budgetary parameters.
