Diagnoses and treats patients with surgery on nervous symptom that includes correcting deformities, repairing injuries, preventing diseases, and improving function in patients with surgery on nervous system. Evaluates symptoms, upon examination of patient, to verify necessity of operation, estimates possible risk to patient, and determines best operational procedure. Reviews reports of patient's general physical condition, reactions to medications, and medical history. Examines instruments, equipment, and surgical setup to ensure that antiseptic and aseptic methods have been followed.
