Job Description:

Consults with client or department heads to define organization's need for successful greenhouse gas (GHG) management required for obtaining greenhouse gas emissions permits and monitoring protocols. Educates company decision-makers about the importance of a proactive approach to GHG emissions management. Educates and advises clients or department heads in GHG permit application and/or compliance process which may vary by city, county, state, and country. Conducts research and performs studies to obtain data regarding greenhouse gases emitted, and analyzes data to advise on, or recommends solutions for, reduction or offsetting of greenhouse gas emissions. Determines requirements of company for compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local environmental regulatory requirements covered by existing GSG emissions permit(s) or desired permit(s). Works closely with emissions authorities, which are government-accredited bodies, through permit and protocol monitoring processes. Creates strategy planning documents and internal GHG protocols for companies. Prepares baseline GHG emissions inventories. Advises client or department heads on GHG and renewables trading markets, which is a process that may be taken to essentially sell permits if GHG emissions are consistently lower than the accepted level or to buy permits if GHG emissions are and remain higher than the accepted level.
