Job Description:

Supervises personnel engaged in selecting, gathering, and editing news and news photographs for one or more specialized news departments of newspaper. Assigns stories to reporters and photographers, edits content, and writes headlines and photo captions. Collaborates with managers of other departments, such as city and sports editors, to coordinate coverage and decide on placement for stories. May select submitted material such as letters or articles for publication. May assign cartoons or editorials to staff members. May perform duties of reporter.
