Job Description:

Manages and coordinates activities of workers engaged in conducting credit investigations and collecting delinquent accounts of customers of commercial establishment, department store, bank, or similar establishment. Assigns subordinates to supervise workers investigating and verifying financial status and reputation of prospective customers applying for credit, preparing documents to substantiate findings, and recommending rejection or approval of applications. Determines responsibility for collecting on worthless checks and delinquent bills to specific supervisors. Reviews and evaluates applications, substantiated data, and recommendations in order to determine credit validity. Establishes credit limitations on customers' accounts. Reviews collection reports to ascertain status of collections and balances outstanding and to evaluate effectiveness of current collection policies and procedures. Less
