Job Description:

Manages and coordinates, directly or through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities of workers engaged in fabricating, repair, modification, or maintenance of vehicles, products, machines, tools, and/or equipment. Schedules fabricating, repair, modification, or maintenance of vehicles, products, machines, tools, and/or equipment to ensure continuous operation of business and/or to ensure that customer or department deadlines are met. Reviews quality control and maintenance reports to plan and modify maintenance activities. Inspects work of employees for conformance with operational standards. Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials. Discusses equipment needs and modifications with design engineers. Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations. Implements and oversees all necessary training requirements for shop floor personnel. Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures. Assures that all procedures are followed correctly and projects are handled efficiently. Communicates with customers, management, and/or sales personnel to assure the accuracy of the job, on-time deliveries, and customer satisfaction. Implements and oversees all safety requirements. Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve problems and recommends measures to improve operations and conditions of vehicles, products, machines, tools, and/or equipment.
