Job Description:

Maintains and repairs vehicles such as jeeps, cars, and trucks. Performs maintenance, repair, and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles and associated items, as well as heavy-wheeled vehicles. Troubleshoots problems in vehicle engines, electrical systems, steering, brakes, and suspensions. Performs maintenance inspections and repairs, to include troubleshooting, diagnosing, and parts ordering in accordance with applicable technical manuals. Repairs and maintains complete vehicle systems such as compression ignition fuel injection systems, air intake systems, liquid cooling systems, power assisted brake systems, exhaust systems, air brake systems, drive train, wheel vehicle suspension systems, vehicle/hub assemblies and geared hubs, wheel vehicle mechanical (manual) steering systems, wheel vehicle hydraulic (power) steering systems, wheel vehicle crane/hoist/winch assemblies, all lubricated points and systems, and various hydraulic and electrical system. Replaces or repairs damaged body parts. Establishes and follows schedules for maintaining vehicles. Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site. Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
