Job Description:

Performs detailed stress, fatigue, damage, and/or structural analysis using standard analysis methods and finite element analysis on pipes, metallic components, composite, nacelle, and other structural hardware, etc., in support of design release and analysis documentation. Performs structural analysis using standard analysis methods and finite element analysis in support of product and process definition (P&PD) projects. Conducts design trades and optimization considering strength, weight, cost, and producibility. Develops engineering design data within budget in accordance with Federal and State regulations and company and/or customer standards of quality. Analyzes and checks structural engineering data produced by other engineering groups to ensure it meets the structural requirements. Creates and develops structural engineering substantiation reports that will be used to certify repair and modification data. Generates stress analysis notes in a usable, traceable file that serves as a historical substantiation record of the repair or modification. Creates, develops, and implements test procedures as required to obtain certifiable allowable data. Develops finite element models to aid in the development of design and certification data. Serves as the primary focal point for engineers, customers , and technical personnel regarding structural substantiation issues. Provides input and suggestions for continuous improvement of various department procedures, controls, flows, and/or systems, and remains familiar with company internal policies and procedures.
