Job Description:

Assists Dental Ceramist in fabricating and finishing dental prostheses, such as dentures, crowns, bridges, inlays, tooth facings, or appliances for straightening teeth, and performs variety of other related tasks. Helps construct and repair dental devices. Creates impression of patient's mouth using wax, plastic, or plaster. Mixes porcelain or acrylic resin solution to match color of natural teeth when appropriate and under direction of Dental Ceramist. Pours melted metal, plaster mix, porcelain, or acrylic pastes into dental impressions of tooth, teeth, or gums or over frameworks to form dental prostheses or apparatus. Removes excess metal or porcelain and grinds and polishes surfaces of prostheses or frameworks to smooth rough spots. Assists in testing appliances for conformance to specifications. Less
