Job Description:

duty>Operates microfilm camera units to film documents. Prepares and inspects documents to be microfilmed for completeness and correctness of order. Monitors, maintains, and makes adjustments to microfilm camera equipment as necessary to ensure proper operation and to produce high quality reproduction. Places original copies in feed trays, feeds originals into feed rolls, or positions originals on tables beneath camera lenses. Photographs records for permanent storage. Sets controls of unit operation, such as exposure time, margin space, and camera action, according to format instructions. Uses specified camera lens according to document reduction ratios desired on film, and slides lens into position on unit. Loads film into camera and splices film to device that facilitates movement of film through unit. Positions documents on unit, activates camera, and observes control panel to monitor unit operation. Replaces film or realigns documents according to signal lights on control panel. Observes colors on printed documents to determine exposure settings based on predetermined standards, and adjusts unit controls to obtain desired effects. Removes film from unit, and wraps in light-resistant bag for further processing. Completes film identification sheet that indicates indexing numbers of microfilm and attaches sheet to bag for reference by Microfilm Processor. Inspects developed film to insure accuracy and sorts out defective or unsatisfactory images for retakes; checks and compares against original documents to insure proper reproductions. Less
