Job Description:

Installs and tests instrument loop components such as pipe, fittings, tubing, valves, and instruments according to instrument location drawings, installation details, vendor data, and specifications. Reads and interprets instructions and documentation and plans work activities. Lays out, fabricates, and assembles instrumentation system components. Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site. Prepares and installs instruments and instrumentation systems in support of construction and maintenance activities. Fabricates connections. Uses formulas for cutting and bending tubing. Handles various sizes and grades of standard materials employed in an instrument control loop or to connect an instrument to a process such as tubing, fittings, valves, tee's, tray, etc. Utilizes and maintains tools and equipment common in an industrial project such as threading machines and band saws. Measures, cuts, threads, bends, and installs loop components. Demonstrates a basic understanding of the functional purpose of the various components of an instrument loop such as transmitters, I/P converters, orifice plates flow nozzles, level indicators, etc. Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities.
