Job Description:

Teaches student pilots in flight procedures and techniques. Educates students on training flights, including demonstrating techniques for controlling aircraft during taxiing, takeoff, spins, stalls, turns, and landings. Requires a Commercial Pilot's Certificate, with Instructor's Rating, issued by the Federal Aviation Administration. Develops training programs. Trains students in conducting pre-flight checks on aircraft. Establishes goals for students to achieve during flights. Teaches the principles of flight, navigation, weather, and the use of radio navigation equipment. Explains operation of aircraft components, such as rudder, flaps, ailerons, compass, altimeter, and tachometer. Teaches qualified pilots about new types of equipment and how to operate different kinds of aircraft. May give students proficiency tests at termination of training. Less
