Job Description:

Sells many brands and a wide range of grown, processed, or manufactured food products for clients from various producers and manufacturers, marketing to a diverse account base including food processors, chain wholesalers, independent wholesalers, and retail food stores. Builds a database of quality suppliers to be used to meet the needs of all accounts. Brokers, representing all the companies fairly, and offers an objective view on the goods being marketed. Supplies a service to both food producers and buyers, matching supply and demand levels. Negotiates sales for producers and manufacturers of food and food products. Researches and keeps producers and manufacturers up-to-date on market trends and forecasts, and local market conditions. Collaborates with suppliers on discounted prices and incentives that can be passed on to buyers. Gives suppliers and buyers adequate attention and keeps them satisfied with prices, deliveries, and customer service. Schedules regular appointments with suppliers and buyers and provide them with leads that will likely generate profits. Focuses on increased sales volumes and achieving the greatest possible distribution of products, which involves strong sales of established products and vigorous marketing of new products. Resolves issues regarding product quality or delivery schedules. Helps wholesalers or store managers develop sufficient inventories of various products, and offers suggestions on store displays and other means of promotion. Moves merchandise, rearranges product displays, replaces spoiled merchandise, keeps accurate records of sales, and prepares reports on market conditions for producers and manufacturers.
