Job Description:

Develops, implements, and maintains Java-based applications, components, and interfaces, creating user information solutions. Researches and analyzes user requirements, and defines system or site scope and objectives. Designs, writes, tests, and debugs code; troubleshoots software issues; and provides day-to-day maintenance and changes to application programs. Sets expectations and priorities, and provides expertise throughout all phases of the development life cycle, from concept and design to testing. Determines design methodologies and tool sets to be used, ensuring designs are in compliance with specifications. Completes applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; and troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms. Recommends system solutions and improvements by investigating alternatives and technologies and comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development. Consults with users or other IT professionals to resolve issues with programs. Updates job knowledge by researching new technologies and software products, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
