Job Description:

Directs the international import of products, equipment, and/or materials in accordance with organizational policies and procedures, and to comply with relevant local, country, and international laws and processes. Directs financial and currency processes and transactions in accordance with policies and laws, and optimizes cost effectiveness of activities. Analyzes and reports on future changes in import laws, and ensures such knowledge is factored into the planning of import strategies, resources, and procedures. Develops and implements import strategy and activities consistent with overall aims and requirements of the organization. Collaborates with other departments in order to establish and maintain effective and relevant import activities, and provides support in relation to the organization's sales, purchasing, materials management, production, and overall operating functions. Monitors, records, analyses, and reports on activities, trends, results, and recommendations relating to import activities. Manages effective and lawful insurance provisions relating to import activities. Plans and implements strategically effective and relevant transport methods which meet the needs of the organization and its suppliers and customers. Manages or liaises with stock control, warehousing, and distribution activities influenced by or reliant upon import activities. Negotiates contracts for sales/purchases, and manages, renews, and reviews contracts as required to enable effective trading, operations, and customer/supplier relations.
