Job Description:

Directs, implements, and manages public relations programs to ensure maintenance of effective relationships with physicians within the community. Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least ten years of experience in the field or in a related area. This position may require experience in physician contracting, reimbursement, and incentive models to promote goal congruence among physicians and other key stakeholders as well as physician satisfaction. Directs and oversees programs designed to foster positive relations between physicians and the hospital or healthcare system. Promotes the organization among members of the medical community to establish partnerships and affiliations. Works with hospital leadership to establish short- and long-term strategic objectives that will achieve profits, growth, or other goals of the organization. Identifies strategic objectives for physician relations and communicates those objectives to subordinate management and staff. Uses knowledge of hospital/physician practice industry trends and related strategies to enhance the competitive position of the Hospital or healthcare system and its affiliated physician practices. Leverages positive change to enhance physician recruitment and retention. Develops strong, close working relationships with key physician stakeholders to positively influence stakeholders toward positive change in light of strategic imperatives. Develops strategic plans, market assessment, and facility/site planning to support the Hospital or healthcare system in its strategy for continued expansion of primary care and other key specialties within the patient service area.
