Job Description:

Manages and coordinates radiology services activities, staff, and diagnostic imaging procedures. Oversees staff in operation of imaging equipment, such, as x-ray machines, fluoroscopes, computer-assisted tomography (CT) scanners, ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment. Contributes to department strategic goals, plans, and reviews; implements policies and procedures; and initiates performance improvement. Monitors productivity, quality, and patient-service standards. Resolves problems and identifies system improvements. Ensures quality control and maintenance of equipment, and oversees tracking inventory and ordering of supplies. Resolves radiology issues with Physicians, Radiologists, Radiology Technologists, and ancillary staff. Improves and maintains quality assurance program for department functions. Evaluates accuracy and quality of images, and provides technical assistance. Monitors radioactive exposure of staff and patients, controls radium loading and handling techniques, and maintains radium records, keeping staff and patients safe. Coordinates clinical rotations and training for radiology technology students. Ensures adherence to professional standards; hospital or clinical policies and procedures; Federal, State, and local requirements; and HIPAA and JCAHO standards and guidelines. Provides statistical reports using treatment and clinical data. Develops budget, monitors expenditures, identifies variances, and recommends corrective actions.
