(2) writes code number on garment or tag with pen and waterproof ink; pins, staples, or sews tag to garment. (3) positions garment under stapling machine and pulls lever that staples short length of tape to garment; writes identifying code on tape. (4) presses lever of clipping machine that fastens metal clip to garment. (5) depresses keys of marking machine that prints identifying symbol on garment. (6) seals identification tape on article, using patching machine and adhesive tape. Routes defective articles to mender for repairs. Sorts articles according to color, degree of soil, and type of materials or treatment. Measures articles with yardstick or measuring tape and records measurements to ensure articles are finished to original size.
