Controls the management of health care data and records containing information about symptoms, examinations, test results and reports, diagnoses, treatment plans, and treatment outcomes. Creates health record indexes or storage and retrieval systems to collect, classify, store, and analyze patient information in hospitals, doctors' offices, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, outpatient care centers, or hospices. Compiles, codes, indexes, checks, and analyzes... permanent medical records of patients, and provides data for research or cost control and care improvement efforts, all in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the health care system.
