Job Description:

Directs the administration, planning, and management of a regional behavioral health program for the treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders. Develops and introduces approved standards and guidelines for behavioral health services and programs for a specific region to ensure quality care to patients. Typically requires a master's degree or PhD and seven years of experience in the field or in a related area. Certification may also be required. Assists in the design, planning, promotion, execution, and evaluation of behavioral health programs. Prepares budget and develops procedures for monitoring and justifying expenditures. Processes referrals, appointments, admission calls, and program plans for patients. Provides case management services to patients and recommends appropriate treatment plan. Develops program objectives, identifies discrepancies, and implements recommendations. Coordinates work schedules for support staff. Serves as facilitator to discuss problems, initiate patient groups, and answer patient questions. Maintains effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public. Develops, maintains, and implements policies and procedures. Confers and cooperates with management personnel in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures.
