Job Description:

Manages consumer loan department of a financial institution providing services including vehicle loans, personal or unsecured lines of credit, home improvement and home equity loans, student loans, credit cards, etc. Coordinates activities to implement institution's consumer loan policies, procedures, and practices concerning granting or extending lines of credit and loan activities. Develops or approves consumer lending policies and interest rate structures. NOTE: ERI's findings based on asset size. Authorizes loans that exceed staff authority. Provides subordinate officers with functional guidance. Reviews loan applications for completeness. Analyzes applicant's financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan request. Contacts customers, businesses, and community and civic organizations to promote goodwill and generate new business. May correspond with or interview applicant or creditors to resolve questions regarding application. May prepare financial and regulatory reports required by law, regulations, and Board of Directors. May examine and evaluate loan applications. May interview and hire workers. May evaluate data pertaining to costs to plan budget.
