Job Description:

Responds to all emergency medical service and fire calls as directed. Assesses extent of medical emergency at scene and establishes priority for emergency medical care via radio communications with appropriate physicians. Participates as a member of the emergency response unit in providing fire suppression and prevention services, medical services, hazardous spill response, and specialized rescue operations. Assumes responsibility for all phases of patient transportation. Renders BLS/ALS emergency medical stabilization as trained and qualified. Participates in medivac requirements as needed. Prepares all records and reports pertaining to the EMS function. Rescues incapacitated personnel. Assists with testing and servicing emergency rescue equipment. Operates and maintains emergency response vehicles, equipment, and radios. Receives, documents, and dispatches appropriate personnel to all trouble calls and alarms to determine the source. Maintain log of all trouble calls received, action taken, equipment dispatched, etc. May provide standby support for aircraft landing/take offs and hazardous operational standby support.
