Job Description:

Records examination, testimony, judicial opinions, judge's charge to jury, judgment or sentence of court, or other proceedings in court of law using shorthand, a stenotype machine, or audio tapes. Reads portions of transcript during trial on judge's request, and asks speakers to clarify inaudible statements. Operates word processor or computer to transcribe recorded material, or enters material into recording machine. Edits the transcript for syntax and grammar.
