Job Description:

Manages and coordinates operations activities at a biomass power generation facility that generates power from the combustion of biomass which may include, but is not limited to, forest residue, agricultural byproducts, wood waste, municipal solid waste, and energy crops, utilizing knowledge of product technology, production methods and procedures, and capabilities of machines and equipment. Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards and develops budget and cost controls. Reviews, analyzes, and prepares reports, records, and directives, and confers with managers/supervisors to obtain data required for planning activities, such as new commitments, status of work in progress, and problems encountered. Assigns, or delegates responsibility for, specified work or functional activities and disseminates policies and objectives to supervisors/staff. Establishes production priorities in keeping with effective operations and cost factors. Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment. Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with specifications and operating or production problems. Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality. Revises production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure or operating problems.
