Job Description:

Navigates aircraft by locating position and directing course of aircraft on flights, using electronic navigational equipment and other navigational aids such as charts, maps, sextant, and slide rule. Requires licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration. Ascertains position of airplane by use of navigation instruments and charts, celestial observation, or dead reckoning. Controls deviations from course required by weather conditions, such as wind drifts and forecasted atmospheric changes. Informs pilot of progress during flight.
