Job Description:

Manages one or more bars at an establishment, overseeing the staff and the operational and financial aspects of the establishment. Manages bar stock availability, ordering, and rotation in liaison with organization management. Manages drink preparation standards and general service as required. Manages customer service standards, ensuring customer expectations are always exceeded. Achieves sales and profit targets as required. Plans, coordinates, and organizes staff rotations in line with organization requirements. Introduces, implements, and manages business sales promotions as required. Advertises and promotes the bar facilities. Ensures compliance with licensing legislation. Ensures compliance with all hygiene and health & safety legislation. Maintains target margins in cost to sales and staffing costs to sales. Ensures high cleanliness and presentation standards are maintained throughout the premises. Ensures cellar standards are maintained at all times. Proposes new product and menu lines that will enhance the profitability and service standards. Introduces a departmental development plan with associated training. Manages the job standards for all employees. Accounts for cash control, ensures that all staff are properly trained in cash procedures, and monitors cash variances in relation to till reports. Develops and coordinates the department budget to identify business needs and/or reductions. Monitors, analyzes, and responds to budget variances, and may allocate operating budgets funds. Recruits and develops team of qualified personnel. Keeps current in all the latest trends in bars. May be responsible for food preparation.
