Job Description:

Diagnoses and treats disorders of the lung and chest cavity. Treats disorders such as asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, pneumonia, cancer, and sleep disorders. Evaluates patients, performing examinations to determine medical problem. Administers or prescribes treatments and drugs. Administers special procedures including exercise pulmonary testing, fiber-optic bronchoscopy, pleural biopsy/chest tap, preoperative evaluation, pulmonary function testing (PFT's), pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine, influenza vaccine, arterial blood gas analysis (ABG's), ventilation and perfusion lung scan, interpretation of the tuberculosis (TB) skin test, and sleep studies.
