Handles complicated or unusual high risk pregnancies or pregnancies that require care by a team of trained individuals. Communicates the findings to patient, upon performing advanced ultrasound. Provides consultation, answering questions and suggesting management plans to patient's regular care provider.
Manages some aspects of patient's care while regular care provider manages prenatal care and the delivery of the baby. Provides the obstetric health care team an awareness of the most recent approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of obstetrical problems, along with the diagnostic and therapeutic techniques for optimal management of complicated pregnancies.
